This depends on the version. The "Standard" calendar has a plantable seed paper cover. The "Premium" version has plantable seed paper inner pages for each month. The "Eco Calendar" has 6 double-sided sheets that are all plantable.
At the end of the month (or year), tear off the seed paper sheet, place it on soil, and cover with a very thin dusting of dirt (about 1/8 of an inch). Water it well, making sure it can drain, and place it in a sunny location. Keep it moist until you see sprouts.
The key difference is what you can plant. With the Standard calendar, you plant the cover at the end of the year. With the Premium calendar, you get the satisfaction of planting a new sheet each month.
